The Association of Travel Marketing Executives is an association of executives with vital responsibilities in the marketing of travel and tourism worldwide. ATME PUB CENTRAL |
What is ATME? Introduction The Association of Travel Marketing Executives (ATME), established in 1980, is a non-profit, professional association made up of experienced and innovative travel industry marketers representing all segments including: airlines; hotels and resorts; cruise lines; tour operators; online travel companies and initiatives; CVB’s; local, state, and international tourist offices; car rental companies; technology and marketing solution providers (ad, marketing, pr agencies, database, crm companies); and media executives. ATME is the only worldwide organization of its kind to provide members with an ongoing forum for the exchange of creative ideas and effective marketing solutions within the travel industry. A Message from the Chairman, Joel Chusid
As the newly elected Chairman of ATME, I would like to first mention that the organization is indebted to Gary Sain, our Immediate Past Chairman, for his dedication and expertise leading ATME over the past few years. ATME is much stronger as a result. Of course as Immediate Past Chairman, Gary will continue to serve on the Executive Committee and Board, working with me and with ATME’s Executive Director, Kristin Zern, in the running of the organization. We’ve set a number of priorities for the coming year. One is the strengthening of several committees, and I’m gratified that many Board Members and ATME members have volunteered to lead or join ATME’s committees. If you would like to volunteer please contact me or Kristin Zern and we will help you determine which committee best complements your interests and expertise. The lists of committees and members can be found www.atme.org (About ATME). Our Branding Committee, chaired by Gary Sain, will establish a new direction and branding for the ATME of the future. This is something I’m especially excited about, considering how world business and the travel industry have been expanding so globally, thanks to the huge advances in technology and communications. It is our desire to establish closer, or in some cases, new relationships with other professional organizations and international trade associations, to mutually help travel industry professionals enhance their awareness, marketing education, and networking worldwide. Our Future Leadership Committee, chaired by Frank Camacho, Staff VP Marketing at The Hertz Corporation, will work to define and expand ATME’s scope to provide marketing education and opportunities for future marketers in our industry, as well as a special program for high level executives who have made the transition to travel marketing from outside the industry. This can include such things as ATME marketing seminars staged in the workplace, at Think Tanks, and mini-conferences. ATME thrives on strong relationships with partners who are avid about travel marketing. We have a number of companies who have supported ATME for years, and we will work to keep them engaged. Additionally, a key goal is to expand these in the coming year, and create mutually beneficial relationships with media and solution providers who are linked to our industry. On June 6-7, 2007, we will hold our 2007 Annual Conference at the spectacular Red Rock Hotel & Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The theme and program are in development, and you can be sure it will be productive, educational, stimulating, and fun! Over the course of the next year, we’ll be selecting recipients, both companies and individuals, for our ATLAS Awards which recognize excellence in various aspects of travel marketing. These will be awarded at the gala banquet during the Conference on the evening of June 7th, 2007. As we enter our 27th year, we are delighted to have you with us as a member. If you’re just looking, consider joining ATME. We look forward to sharing ideas, information and insights that are at the heart of today's effective marketing solutions.Cordially, Joel Chusid General Manager, North America, Hainan Airlines Chairman, ATME Sitemap |
